How are your educational resources different than others?

For 38 years IP has provided a valuable blend of current research and practical knowledge. By focusing specifically on teacher resources for middle school, grades 5-8, and teacher strategy books (for all grades K-12), IP meets identified educational needs.

Does Incentive Publications sell textbooks or a curriculum as well?

No, we offer teaching resources that you can use to both supplement and complement your current curriculum and textbooks. Our books offer educational activities, lessons, and exercises that illuminate the core subjects that you are teaching.

Are your materials “research based?”

All publications from IP are research-based. Before beginning production Incentive Publications makes a careful meta-analysis of the current research on the appropriate topic and effective instructional practices. Current educational standards are analyzed. Researchers working with authors develop a scope and sequence of the most important skills to be addressed. Classroom teachers and supervisors write appropriate materials that meet the criteria of best practices and address the identified skills. Each exercise is tried out in the teachers’ classrooms to test it both for effectiveness and student appeal. The exercises are carefully culled and edited. Since 1969, teachers have reported the educational effectiveness of IP's materials.

Who are your educational resources for?

Our middle school educational materials are for both teachers and parents (including parents who home school) of students in the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. Note that we also provide materials for younger grades as well. We also offer teaching strategy books for educators—both teachers and administrators—for all grades, K-12.

How do I purchase your educational materials?

A number of ways. You can purchase from over 2000 retailers and dealers in the U.S. and internationally. You can also purchase our books online through this web site or other sites (including Amazon). If you order from IP, you can order either the physical copy of the book or download it in eBook form, immediately—or purchase both (for only $5 more per book). Can I copy pages in your books for use in my class?

Yes, as an individual educator you can reproduce any of the pages from our books for use with our own individual classes or as a parent, for your own home use—and make the copies you need for your class(es). All IP materials are copyrighted and otherwise are not for resale or other distribution in hard copy or electronically. Please see our Reproducible Materials Agreement .

Who writes your books?

We have a wide array of top authors who are also practicing educators. They write from current research and teaching experience. Each brings an individual zest and love for teaching that makes IP educational materials truly unique.

Are your educational materials correlated to standards?

IP activities and content are correlated to or based upon national and state standards as well as standardized testing benchmarks. Every effort is made to address key skills and those necessary to the proper educational development of the student. Many titles (for example our Basic Not Boring Series) have skills checklists or tables that display an easy-to-follow correlation to the activities or content.
