Millie is married with two grown children and one grandchild. She received her B.S. degree in Middle School Education in 1995, an M.A. in education in 1999, and a Rank 1 in Instructional Leadership in 2003.
After ten years in middle school science labs, Millie is currently a Curriculum/Resource Coach and is also working for the Appalachian Math & Science Partnership program as a Leadership Intern. Millie received the Teacher of Excellence Award from Campbellsville University in 2005. In addition to writing science resource books, she also develops hands-on activities to use in the science classroom.
