
Judy Mecca lives in Wylie, Texas with her husband George and daughter Jensen. She writes a semiweekly humorous column for The Wylie News and regularly performs "clean" sets of comedy for ladies' groups and organizations.
She appears as an-air radio personality for Ron Chapman's Morning Show and writes for radio stations KVIL, KLUV, and KZPS. She is also a writer for Jody Dean’s Morning Show on KLUV.
Judy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theater Arts from the University of Texas at Dallas where she graduated cum laude. She also holds a Texas Teaching Certificate in Theater and English. Judy was awarded the UTD Scholarship for Academic Excellence and Leadership Potential and is featured in Volume 127 of Something about the Author, a reference book about authors and illustrators of books for young people Judy co-wrote, produced, and performed in several Dallas satires featured at various theaters, including Casa Manana's Theater on the Square in Fort Worth and The Pocket Sandwich Theater in Dallas. (Dallas Is Wonderland, Dallas Through the Looking Glass, D ... My Name is Dallas and holiday offering Dallas Got Run Over By a Reindeer) In addition Judy wrote, co-produced, and performed in What the Dickens?!, a spoof of A Christmas Carol, for seven seasons at Calm Eddy's, The Pocket Sandwich Theater, and Richland College in Dallas. Judy and her husband George Mecca opened the first night spot in Dallas’s Deep Ellum, Calm Eddy's Comedy Club. She is also a member of The Pezz Comedy Troupe and Random Scam, Dallas's first comedy troupe.
